Peter Tierney has a broad general business and corporate background spanning more than four decades in the practice of law. He has provided general legal counsel to a number of individuals and businesses, including advice regarding business entity selection and formation. Peter has also provided advice in mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions. He has advised troubled lending institutions (and their directors and officers), and provided counsel to senior executives regarding employment, change of control, buy/sell agreements and severance matters. In the area of Corporate Governance, he advises boards and committees of boards, as well as providing director and officer risk management advice (including the negotiations of indemnity agreements), D&O insurance protection and fiduciary duty analysis.

Peter received his J.D. from the University of Virginia where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Virginia Law Review. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with honors from Boston College where he was a member of the College Honors Program and as a student in the top 10% of his graduating class was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honor Society.
