Practicing family law in Texas since 1990, Camille Cooper Scroggins has come to believe that an effective family law attorney can improve a client’s overall experience during this very difficult time, while also achieving desired results. She works with clients who want to privately resolve disputes with solutions designed to meet the particular needs of their family, while also maintaining civility, compassion, and respect for all involved. She has developed a reputation for being highly skilled at helping clients seek creative, customized, and mutually beneficial solutions for restructuring family finances and relationships in private, business-like, and non-combative settings outside of the courthouse. Her practice has shifted over the years from litigation to a concentration in the areas of Collaborative Family Law, Mediation, and assisting clients with amicable settlements.
With over 200 hours of training and many years of experience in Collaborative Family Law and Mediation, Camille has been highly successful in resolving cases using these alternative dispute resolution methods. She is a charter member and has served as Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson of the Collaborative Law Alliance of Collin County. Because of her outstanding reputation in the legal community, Camille was elected by her peers to be a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing access for all to the Texas justice system. This honor is given to only 2% of attorneys in Texas. Her other professional memberships include the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, the State Bar of Texas (Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections), the Dallas Bar Association (Family Law, Collaborative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections) and the Collin County Bar Association (Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections).
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Camille was co-captain of the Varsity Women's Tennis Team and recipient of the Hamilton Award for outstanding senior management student. Her law degree is from Louisiana State University, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. Camille was licensed by the State Bar of Louisiana in 1989 (currently inactive), and by the State Bar of Texas in 1990.
Camille has maintained a successful solo family law practice for years. Prior to that, she was a Director and Shareholder at Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley and Urbach, P.C. and previously served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Fred C. Sexton, Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
