Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley and Urbach, PC welcomes a new shareholder to the firm, M. Kenneth Patterson. Ken Patterson has been a trial lawyer for more than 30 years, primarily defending personal injury and medical malpractice cases on behalf of his clients. He has tried cases in nineteen different Texas counties and has completed seventy-seven medical malpractice trials. He has a remarkable track record of success, having achieved a favorable verdict for his clients in over ninety-six percent of cases tried. Ken has also had many trial and appellate successes in non-medical matters. In recent years, Ken has also become a trained mediator.
Ken handles all types of personal injury and wrongful death cases. He is primarily involved in the defense of physicians, but also represents several hospitals, including Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Ken also represents physicians and other health care providers in issues pending before the Texas Medical Board, the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, and other regulatory agencies. He was selected for the 2012 Texas Super Lawyers list published by Thompson Reuters, an honor bestowed on only 5% of attorneys in Texas.
Prior to joining HHDU, Ken was a partner at Patterson and Wagner from 1992 to 2012. Before forming that firm, Ken was a partner in a Dallas law firm, where he acquired extensive courtroom experience trying medical malpractice cases.
“Ken Patterson is great a great addition to the team at HHDU. His experience in the courtroom and his dedication to defending his clients will be great assets to the firm,” said Jerry L. Hiersche, one of the founding shareholders of the firm. “He shares our vision for excellence and we are all looking forward to working with him.”
