Jason M. Katz joins our Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy practice group at HHDU.
Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley and Urbach, PC welcomes attorney Jason Katz back to the firm as Senior Counsel. Practicing law for approximately 10 years, Jason’s focus is handling complex commercial litigation cases and bankruptcy. Examples of complex commercial litigation include representing companies in both federal and state court receivership proceedings and representing judgment debtors and creditors in complicated judgment collection cases. He has also worked with banks to resolve various matters such as loan modifications and workouts, fraud and deficiency actions, foreclosures of security interests in both real and personal property, and perfecting security interests.
Jason’s bankruptcy experience covers debtor representation in Chapter 11, Chapter 7 trustee representation, and lender representation in adversary proceedings involving alleged fraudulent transfer and preference claims. His representation for corporate reorganization includes a hotel, air conditioning company and real estate and brokerage firm. Other industry representations include bankruptcy cases in the telecommunications and energy sectors.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in history, Jason earned an M. B. A. before graduating from law school at the University of Arkansas. While in law school, Jason was an Arkansas Law Review Associate Editor and a member of the National Moot Court Traveling Team.
Jason’s successful track record earned him recognition as a ‘Texas Rising Star’ by Super Lawyers®, Rising Star edition in 2012 and 2013. Super Lawyers is a Thomson Reuters partner publication/insert distributed by Texas Monthly magazine.
